WeTrain was built from day one with athlete safety at the center. Every trainer is verified and background-checked, every booking for a minor is parent-approved, every payment is protected, and every session is traceable.
Identity verification
Trainers and parents both upload a government-issued photo ID to a private, encrypted vault. Our admin team confirms each document is valid and matches the person's profile before any account goes live.
Background checks
Every trainer is screened through Checkr — covering criminal history, sanctions, and sex-offender registry status — before they can accept a single booking. Any flagged result is escalated to a human reviewer.
Consent & parental control
Athletes under 18 must have a parent or guardian create and manage the account. Parents approve every booking, can message trainers directly, and receive a confirmation for each session.
Audit trail
Every booking, payment, message, and approval is logged and traceable. AI moderation flags inappropriate content or off-platform contact attempts for human review, and every session leaves a record.
Secure, escrow-style payments
All payments are processed through Stripe Connect with escrow-style holds. Funds are only released to the trainer after the session is completed and confirmed — so your money is protected at every step.
Trainer Vetting
Every trainer clears four gates.
Before a trainer can ever appear in search or receive a booking, they must clear four sequential gates. Each step has a clear status, and a trainer is only activated once every one turns green.

Government ID verification
Every trainer uploads a government-issued photo ID to our private, encrypted vault. Our team confirms the ID is valid and matches the trainer's profile. Trainers invited through a trusted personal network may carry a verified invite that fast-tracks this step.

Background check
We run a comprehensive background check through Checkr, covering criminal history, sanctions, and sex-offender registry status. A trainer cannot move forward until the report clears. Any flagged result is escalated to a human reviewer before a decision is made.

Profile & credential review
Our admin team reviews the trainer's athletic background, NCAA or Pro credentials, roster links, and profile content. AI moderation pre-screens listings for inappropriate content or off-platform contact attempts before a human gives final sign-off.

Approval & activation
Only when ID verification, the background check, and credential review are all complete does a trainer become eligible to accept sessions. Until every gate is green, the trainer cannot appear in search or receive a single booking.
